Tatoo removal

Tattos are easier to make than to remove. However there are solutions, of our lasers the ruby-laser, ktp-laser or the CO2-laser are the most suitable.

How does the Lasers work?
The laser produce an intense pulse of light. The ink particles of your tattoo absorb this light, and gets heated/burned. Some of the ink will be vaporized, other partickles will be absorbed the body's natural cleansing process.

Is the process painful?
The laser emits light in very short flashes of light. The flashes could be pulsed in different ways depending on the laser choosen. The impact of the energy from the powerful pulse of light t is similar to the snap of a thin rubber band or specks of hot bacon grease on the skin. In normal cases there are no anestesia needed.

How many treatment sessions will it take to remove the tattoo?
It depends on many factors, colours, how long the tatto been there, etc. Roughly one can say that professional tattoos require at least 6 -12 treatments, while amateur tattoos require 4-8 treatments, all spaced approximately on 8 weeks apart. The number of treatments depends on the amount and type of ink used and the depth of the ink in the skin.

Does all colors disappear?
No, dark (blue/black) inks and red inks fade the best. Greater than 95% fading of the tattoo may be accomplished. Other colours more difficult to remove, especially difficult is green and yellow, although additional treatments can produce significant fading.

Which result can I Expect?
Most tattoos can be completely removed after several treatments. But, there are times, especially with certain special color pigments that it will never be completely removed.

The aftercare/sideeffects?
Usually there will be some woundhealing after, such as minor crusting and bleeding for 2 or 3 days after treatment. Of course its very important Occasionally, hypopigmentation, or a whitening of the skin, may occur. But normal skin tone should return within 6 to 12 months following your last treatment session. Since the ink used in tattooing is not regulated, some patients have only partial clearing even after several laser sessions.

How Do Lasers Compare to Other Tattoo Removal Methods?
Other methods such as surgical excision, dermabrasion and chemical peels, are not working very well and can even result in scarring. Laser tattoo removal is safer and only targets the ink and not the surrounding tissue.
